Based in Carlisle, Cumbria Granite and Marble was established in 2003. We have earned a local reputation for high quality workmanship at surprisingly affordable prices. We have over 14 years experience in the stone industry; in the measuring, cutting, polishing and fitting of stone. We also have highly trained staff that are able to fit an entire kitchen, meaning that quality is guaranteed throughout the project.

Your stone will start its journey deep underground , the location will depend on the stone you select. The stone is mined in large blocks, barely recognisable from the stone you will receive. It is then cut into slabs that are 30mm thick. Various companies around the UK will import these slabs of unfinished stone. This is the condition in which we receive the stone. Before the stone is cut to shape, a template is taken. This template is a perfect size of your work surface or fireplace. The slab of stone is then cut to size using this template, ensuring a perfect fit. The stone is then ready to be finished to the preferences of the client. Different finishes and edges can be applied to the stone. Various shapes can be cut out to accommodate appliances such as hobs and sinks.
