Franke SinksAt Cumbria Granite and Marble we supply Franke sinks for use with our kitchens. Founded in 1911 Franke is an organisation built on precision engineering and traditional craftsmanship, which has lead to Franke becoming the worlds largest manufacturer of kitchen sinks.
There are a number of options when it comes to choosing a sink for your kitchen. Decissions involve which material, how to mount the sink and what accessories to use. One of the many points to consider is how to have the sink mounted. There are two options: overmounted and undermounted which are detailed below. Overmounted SinksOvermounted sinks are the most common, found in many kitchens. An overmount is when the sink is mounted on top of the work surface. The draining board is attached to the sink in one single piece. Please see our overmount example for a clearer picture of what an overmounted sink looks like. Undermounted SinksUndermounted sinks are becoming increasingly popular. An undermount is when the sink is mounted underneath the work surface. The work surface is cut and polished as the inside edges are visible. The draining board is incorporated into the work surface by cutting drainage grooves in to the stone. Please see our undermount example for a clearer picture of what an undermounted sink looks like. Ceramic SinksCeramic sinks are our customers most popular choice. They create add more traditional look to your kitchen. To accommodate this choice you can have a solid work surface cut out to the perfect shape of your chosen sink. Alternately you can have three separate pieces fixed together around the sink. Please see our ceramic example for a clearer picture of what a ceramic sink looks like. |
